Police Arrest Suspected Child Trafficker In Delta, Voids Attempt To Kidnap Baby

The Police Anti-Child Trafficking Unit attached to Ogwashi Uku Police Division in Delta state in the early hours of Thursday arrested a middle aged woman, identified as Muareen Adiko after her failed attempt to kidnapped a Baby from the mother.

The Police Commissioner in the state, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwah who Confirmed this to Journalists in Asaba, said that the woman ran into troubled waters when her bid to snatch the baby from the mother failed and the Police Anti-Child trafficking team was alerted

The police boss said” the woman had invited the mother for a business transactions but unknown to her, the suspect had arranged with some people to Kidnap the Baby from her.

According to him, they ran out of luck when their plot leaked to the police who immediately swung into action to arrest the woman while her gang members escaped into the bush.”

Speaking further, Inuwah said some vandals were also arrested in Ubulu Uku Community.

He stated that the Police recovered from the suspects some electricity cables and cutlasses.

The police Commissioner said they would soon charged to court on completion of on going investigations.

Meanwhile, the President Of Ogwashi Uku Development Association ( ODA) Home Branch, John Okolie has alerted the people of the community on the Possible return of herders to the area following their Ouster by states in the western part of the Country.

According to Rev Okolie, he has verifiable Information that the herders from the Yoruba axis of the country have been asked to leave their terrain and are now heading down to the South-South Particularly Delta state.

He added, ” My concern now is that these herders are heading down to Delta State and they are coming towards our local government from where they may mobilize to Ndokwa axis.”
