Firm Asks Lagos To Probe Education Minister Over Land Grabbing Allegations

A Lagos-based firm, Advance Lincon Limited, has urged the state government to investigate the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, over allegations of interference with a parcel of land at Lekki Peninsula Scheme II.

The company, through its lawyers at ELISIO Law Office, called for the probe in a petition dated February 16, 2026, sent to the Lagos State Lands Bureau in Alausa, Ikeja, over the disputed property on Block 69H in Lekki Peninsula Scheme II.

Advance Lincon Limited claimed that there was unlawful interference with a property that it asserted was properly allocated, registered, and later transferred to new owners.

The firm stated that the land was allocated to them, with its title perfected and registered in 2014 as Number 49 at page 49 in Volume 2014G.

The company claims to have a Certificate of Occupancy and a Letter of Allocation to support its ownership.

Corporate records show that Advance Lincon Limited was incorporated on April 8, 1999, as a private company limited by shares, with Registration Number 425594 and an address at 83 Okesuna Street, Lagos Island.

Its shares are reportedly evenly divided between two directors, Omisesan Taofeeq and Babade Oluwole Adeniran.

According to the petition, last year the company sold the land to two buyers, Alhaji Muniru Ogunleye and Mr Musiliu Ademola Lawal, in a transaction described as lawful and properly documented.

The dispute supposedly started when the new owners tried to take possession and perfect their own title.

One buyer allegedly received a call from a man named Adeniyi Saheed Tinubu, claiming to act on behalf of a director of another company that supposedly owned the same property.

Further investigation linked the competing claim to Lincoln Advanced Radiology Service Limited, incorporated on December 22, 2023, with Registration Number 7274585, operating as a radiology diagnostics centre on Hakeem Dickson Road, Lekki.

Corporate filings list its directors as Maryam Morenikeji Alausa and Olatunji Morufu Alausa. Olatunji holds 75% of the shares and is identified as a person with significant control, while Maryam holds 25%.

Advance Lincon Limited argued that, despite the similar names, the two companies are separate legal entities. It emphasised that its incorporation in 1999 and land registration in 2014 predate the radiology company’s founding by nearly a decade.

The firm stated it could not understand how a company formed in 2023 could claim ownership of land allocated and documented years earlier, especially since no Certificate of Occupancy or registered title has been presented by the second company.

The lawyers also revealed they learned of a separate petition to the Police Commissioner claiming that Advance Lincon Limited lacked authority to sell the land. The company denied this, asserting its directors acted within their legal powers.

Apart from the legal conflict, the two buyers face uncertainty over their investment, as development plans are on hold pending resolution.

Advance Lincon Limited urged the Lagos Lands Bureau to uphold its records and confirm the validity of the title registered as 49/49/2014G, calling for due process and valid documentation in any administrative action.

As of now, Lagos state officials have not publicly commented on the case.
