“Our industry is delicate and dynamic,” she stated. “It is a constantly evolving sector, with many practitioners experimenting with new techniques to stay relevant. This reality keeps all of us on our toes at all times.”
She stressed, “The need to stay updated and creatively relevant cannot be overemphasised. If you remain static and uncreative, you risk being left behind by peers continually updating their skills and exploring new ideas.”
According to her, creative thinking has been instrumental in securing signature projects and activations. Ojobaro noted, “If you fail to think outside the box, someone else will take your place in the industry.”
The industry icon, who recently headlined the Egbaganza event in Abeokuta, Ogun State, believes there is ample opportunity for growth in the field, given the high demand for practitioners’ skills. She has landed significant roles in major entertainment events, including Felabration, an annual celebration of the birthday of the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.
Additionally, she has been featured in the Honourable Trophy Beer television shows sponsored by International Breweries and various concerts for popular musician Mr Sunny Nneji. Ojobaro has also participated in performances by musicians such as Nigga Raw and African China.
“The market demand for our skills is immense, offering plenty of opportunities for all of us. However, maintaining relevance is highly demanding,” she concluded.
