INEC Restores Gombe as SDP National Chairman After Court Order

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated its official records to recognise Professor Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe as the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The development follows a court order directing the electoral body to restore Gombe’s status as the recognised leader of the party.

The update was reflected on INEC’s official portal, where Professor Gombe is now listed as the SDP National Chairman. The move comes amid an ongoing leadership dispute within the party.

Other members of the SDP National Working Committee have also been listed on the portal, including Dr. Olu Agunloye as National Secretary, Hajia Maggie Mariam as National Treasurer, Bello Ado Huseni as National Financial Secretary, and Barrister Aderemi as National Legal Adviser.

The recognition is expected to affect the party’s internal administration and future political activities as the SDP continues efforts to resolve its leadership issues.
