Oyebanji Wins Bamidele’s Polling Unit with 164 Votes in Ekiti Governorship Election

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a decisive victory at the polling unit of Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, in the Ekiti governorship election held on Saturday.

According to the result announced by the Presiding Officer, Ms. Elizabeth Oregbemeh, Oyebanji secured 164 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Wole Oluyede, received 8 votes. The Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate, Mr. Ayodeji Ojo, polled one vote.

Bamidele, who cast his vote earlier, commended the peaceful conduct of the election and praised the turnout of voters across the state. The Senate Leader also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of electoral personnel and materials across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas.

INEC data showed that out of 1,059,360 registered voters in Ekiti State, 1,028,929 collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

PDP – 8 votes
ADP – 1 vote
